The Artist
Jeff Osser
Jeff Osser is a self-taught artist whose work developed outside a traditional academic or gallery path. Much of this collection was created more than 30 years ago. His work is surreal, figurative and deeply personal, often exploring relationships, identity, connection, separation and the complicated ways people experience one another.
The work was not created to follow a trend or fit comfortably into a category. These were simply the paintings Jeff felt compelled to create.
For decades, much of the work remained largely unseen. Altered View Gallery was created to bring these pieces forward again — not to define what they mean, but to give people the opportunity to encounter them, interpret them and perhaps see something of their own experience within them.
“These were simply the paintings Jeff felt compelled to create.”
The Gallery
Altered View
See things differently.
The idea behind Altered View Gallery is simple: “See things differently.”
The works were created decades ago, yet many of their questions remain timeless — how we connect, what separates us, where we come from, what shapes us, what we desire and how differently each of us can experience the same world.
The gallery doesn’t tell you what these paintings mean. The titles hold contradictions, the figures keep their secrets, and what you find in them is yours.
