All Together Alone

Is stepping away from the chaos of the world an escape, or can it become a kind of isolation? All Together Alone explores that uncertain space. Perhaps the figures have intentionally created a world apart, finding refuge and connection in each other. Or perhaps they simply find themselves removed from everything happening around them, together yet somehow still alone.

The title leaves that tension unresolved — whether being apart is something we choose or something we come to feel, and whether being together necessarily means we feel connected.

Created from an original painting by the artist in the 1990s, the work leaves those questions open, allowing the viewer to decide where refuge ends and isolation begins.
